    Dear Lakshmi,

You can very happily proceed with this match.
Your cousin's wife is you SIL, and none of her family members are related to you.

Infact traditionally this is how marriages used to happen. The most potential matches that were sought were mostly from kaki/chachi's birth family, bhabhi's birth family, masi's marital family, bua's marital family etc etc.

Go ahead, if other things work out then you can surely consider this alliance.

    True madam.

I always believe that our vedas were based on scientific principles. Hence marrying cousins is not allowed EXCEPT a girl marrying her bua( father's sister's) son.
This is in the mahabharat i.e Arjun marrying Shubhadra.

Bua's daughter marrying mama's son is not allowed, only the reverse. But the gene pool is still the same.

Then how come this Arjun Shubhadra type of marriage is allowed? waitingsmiley

That is just what I too wonder girlygirl. Genetically speaking it should not be allowed. Probably shows that everything in our epics are not sacrosanct. They are open to debate.

In my community....no blood relation is allowed No mama or bua or mausi or chacha's children.

But even for us...this would be perfectly okay rishta.

Brother's wife become bhabhi(sil) and her brother is perfectly legal for us.
Two sisters can also marry two brothers.
A real brothers's wife's brother is also fine for us...ie one set of brother sister marrying another set of brother sister.

Here he is not my brother rather brother in law. His wife would become sister but not SIL.
My cousin is my mamas son (moms brothers son). He married a lady . Her brother is a divorcee.

No YM, in southern states of India, mama or bua's son is considered as BIL&his wife is considered as sister. Masi & chacha's son is like brother in relation.

You can easily proceed with this one. But of course, if you family is against it then it's an issue. Why not try matrimonial sites instead?
