Hi Ladies, I have my wedding in coming January and gonna buy wedding saree this Friday! So thought of checking with my experienced friends out here before I venture out. Which shop has some unique wedding collections in chennai? My budget is around 50K. Saw a few old posts which voted for Nalli silks, but wanted to hear from our recent brides as well. Will nalli have only the traditional type or uniques designs too? If Nalli which shop to go - The old one near kumaran or the one in Usman road? Also, how about Kalanikethan? Please do post your valuable suggestions.

Hi Rajeni, Congrats on your wedding Another Bride to be here. I'm getting married in June 2016. How did your shopping go? Where did you get your Saree from? Bw, Ranjini.
Hi Ranjini, Thanks much Congrats to you too!! My shopping went well. I purchased the saree from Old Nalli in T Nagar. I was looking for traditional yet unique saree. The collections are impressive!! Got a light peach and golden combination. Cant believe I finished my shopping in 30 mins. Definitely not like me.. lol You have a lot of time before your wedding, but plan everything well ahead - advice out of experience!
hi Ladies.... How about Vasthrakala pattu in Pothys? they give with more embroidary and stone works on the pattu saree. Is it worth to get it ? The cost is bit lesser compared among samundriga and parambara. I doubt are they compromising the jari quality and compensating with the stone works. Please give me some suggestions If you people can give some other options are also welcome
We’ve all been there. We want to pay tribute to our roots and traditions, but we still want to own the moment. This is your big day after all. Goodness knows that tradition has had more than its share of tributes. The saree with its luscious silken folds has long been notorious for being a little “stand-offish” and entertaining no whims and fancies. Here are the inspirations for Saree: Links for the sarees
