    Hi All,

I had my baby on June11 and he weighed 6 lbs 8 oz. On day 2 he lost 10% weight, less colostrum was coming, we tried latching the baby on the breast but he wasn’t sucking. So newborn deptt asked us to start formula 20 ml \every 3 hrs. Since then baby is totally resisting the breast and even cries. All attempts to latch the baby going in vain and no milk coming out. On day 7 we went to a different newborn deptt and they said that baby's tongue is short so he had latch issues. We were also told that more or less the window for the body to produce milk is almost over. They still asked me to start taking fenugreek and use breast pump to stimulate breasts

Still no signs of milk and even colostrum has decreased now. I am really tense as I always wanted my baby to breastfeed and be on my milk.

Is it true that I have made it late is taking steps to stimulate milk production and now probably breasts won’t get milk ?. What best I can still do and when my body should get milk (If steps taken are working) ?

    Thanks
    Riya

I am not sure if its too late already.. did you start using the breast pump? Are you currently hand expressing so as to not lose the colostrum?
    Good luck!
