Chinese feminists show off armpit hair in photo contest

What do you think? The fashion and social expectation that women should keep armpits free of visible hair is gender inequality?

I don't know whether a parallel to gender equality can be drawn. Is it imposed on women ? I thought Men would be happier if we don't make a hole in their purses every month for our waxing needs. :)
But personally, I prefer to wax it for hygienic purposes. I can't stand men showing off their unshaven arm pits either.

I saw this article on this a while back....apparently this was started with the movie whose clip is on this link. I was surprised but shouldn't have been that traditional Chinese women in those sleeveless silk dresses didn't shave their armpits. Despite the hair, this clip is pretty sensual and alluring.

Chinese women are showing off hairy armpits in selfies

In USA, not shaving and bra burning went hand in hand back in the 1970s.

I too think comparing it to gender inequality is too much.

Men have to shave every morning, and if they don't, the growth is so in your face. I mean their face? :confused2:

But Rihana, did you miss this week's article in the NY Times?
Women are shaving their faces for the obvious, as well as for exfoliation. As a fervent hater of upper-lip waxing and threading I think they are onto something.
As far as body hair goes, whatever floats your boat. I have seen a lot of crunchy types walking around blissfully unshaven in shorts and sleeveless tops. Thankfully no ecnounters at the pool :) !

Oh !! It was a figure of speech...However does gender equality boil down to 'that that money ..that that person '? ... If that is the case...then equality is understood incorrectly... !!

:rotflthat sounds funny, reminds me of JAM's same same rice, same same batter.

It is one thing that is never understood correctly.
