Picnic Spots around Austin

    though zilker park is the best, there is one more that is not mentioned in above comments - its bob wentz park @ windy point .. its good too..its lakeside..near Oasis.. As name suggests - its windy but enjoyable.
    zilker botanical garden is beautiful but not for picnic I guess

    Another place is McKinney state park. It is one of the best kept secrets I guess. It is very close to Austin downtown. Even I haven't been here. I am planning to pull a couple of families and go for a picnic one time. If you end up going before us, please update your experience.
