abc00 if it is light romantic ones check durjoy dutta. sudeep nagarkar,

I am told indi mill and boons are available these days.

If you are looking for a little more than romance..

Ashwin sanghi books are a little racy thrillers.

    Old classics ruskin bond.rknarayan.
Sivasankari's novels are available in english though i prefer their original.

If you love a little bit history added you can check chitra bannerjee and anand neelkantan, Indu sunderesan, Ashok Banker apart from what gueshoo has suggested.

sudha murthy, kiran desai, jhumpa, arundhati and there are more..

    start again..

Chetan Bhagat, Durjoy Dutta, Ravinder Singh, Preeti Shenoy, Yashodara Lal are some of the latest authors I can think of. Try a book by each one of them and continue if you like it.

    OP,

There you go some awesome suggestions. Often in my local library it is hard to find all of the Indian authors and I have mostly read Jhumpa Lahiri, Chitra Divakaruni, Kiran Desai, etc. I also enjoy reading Rohinton Mistry. That said, thanks to you I found this interesting article and got introduced to some more 8 Most Acclaimed Indian American Writers
