    Dear Sudha ,

    No dear .. i'm out of chennai for a while . will be back only by june 2nd week .i'll go there once I reach in Chennai . but getting some nice plants from here in kerala. hope they'll survive in Chennai .
    Do you have any orchids at home ? if yes. what kind of fertilizer you use ?

    Hi Smitha

    I got few plants from Kerala and killed 50 percent , remaining are in good health but not flowering , I am keeping them in the Balcony .
    I hv started spraying with orchid boon 8:25:25 fro the last 2 weeks based on advise from panpit garden center , Kannur from whom I got my latest shipment of 7 plants , pots and medium .Hope this will give good result.
    hv you visited the nursery in t nagar , do they hv good collections of orchids , pls keep posting.

    i know this is late, but back in 2009, we found a large orchid greenhouse off the road to Mahabalipuram. The taxi driver knew about it. They had well grown orchids for Rs. 250-500 depending on variety and size.

    @sudharathinavel .its been almost 1. and half years since we had the discussion about orchid plants in chennai ..
    But last month only i came back to chennai and i visited Haritha tharang yesterday .I loved the shop ..
    they had only one orchid in stock and i bought it ... but their indoor plant collection is amazing and they have very good varieties of pots too ... felt a little expensive though ...
    Thanks a lot for the reference .

    @gitasharma i have never grown orchids in chennai, i wish to do it sometime maybe as soon as i can have green house..(dreamon Shanvy)

    i actually stumbled on this orchid forum when we were trying to order plants for my nephew for his biotech experiments 4 years back..
