Viki, I also have GD and right now I am able to control sugal levels with diet only. If I eat rice then my level goes up, I am able to eat roti without worrying about sugars though. I don't put any oil while making the dough and it is working.

    Crazymom,
I tried all combination of Rotis and whole wheat breads but nothing helped me. Only thing i able to have is 1/3 cup of dalia (broken wheat) followed by 20 min of walk after meal.

It looks like my insulin resistance is really low.

    hi Friends,
    Sorry for MIA.

Was sick for few days due to vomiting.
And later due to stomach upset.
I guess the 7th month end kind of acidity kicked in too much for me.
So I had to later my diet.
For vomit I couldnt help.I was admitted in hospital.
They gave me Pan -d injections all fluids were stopped orally including water.
So after 12 hours only I was given water. When I did not throw up.
Slowly had musambi juice. Then a slice of bread.
Finally was allowed so semi solid food like dal and rice.
And this is the diet they gave in hospital. But without water I was on IV(Glucose).

Later weeks when acidity hit me.
I followed same method I saw if milk was suiting me else.
I would not take milk the whole day.I avoided complex carbs like roti.
and nil spice.Had khichadi 1 day.Just toor dal and mashed rice another day.
No citrus fruits like orange.NO Coffee or Tea.Ice cream helps ton in acidity and also we love to eat.but if you have GD I really wonder how you'l manage?
Once I dint rush to rest room frequently.I started adding milk, fruits and roti to my diet.
    Hope this helps someone.

    Hey!

You should definitely read through this feature.

Pregnancy Diet: Eat Healthy during Pregnancy

It has got a whole list of foods and beverages that are good during this time for us mommies. I, for one, most definitely liked this detailed article. It will help me chalk out my diet plan better.

Also if you have gestational diabetes or high blood pressure - it tells you what to eat then.
