Hi, I baked a cake and shaped into a square. There is box full of leftover sponge cake (the edges that were cut out and shaped) . What to do with that? Also lots of chocolate frosting left. Any recipe ideas from these? Thanks
Hi.There are many things you can make.Here are a few ideas. 1)Virgin rum balls-Crumble the cake and add some cream and make small balls.Dip them into the frosting and remove it in a paper cup.Garnish with a cherry if available and allow to set in the fridge. 2)Cut cake into cubes.Arrange it in a stemmed glass.Make some custard and allow ot to cool at room temperature.Pour it on the cake and set it in the fridge.Spoon in the frosting and set it again. Do the custard thing with the cake and some fruit like strawberries. Freeze the frosting for when you make cupcakes another time.
That was my mom's favorite thing to do with left over cake.I loved it. My daughters like custard with bicuits(glucose biscuits).
