Hi, Can we use vathal (sun dried vegs) like brinjal, mango, sundaikkai, etc for any recipe apart from making vatha kulambu? I have these vathal with me for a long time, but we didnt like to make vatha kulambu often? Pls help, any other recipe can do, to make use of these vathal? Thanks
Hi , 1. by using dried mango, you can make yummy pickle, 2. you can fry 'sundaikkai/manaththakkali' vaththal in oil and can eat with hot rice and ghee. ( kaiyaala norukki pisaiyavum. ) 3. you can make 'paruppu saambaar' with dried brinjal. For that you have to soak brinjal for a while, say 10 to 15 min. Then add it with sambar. It will taste grate. In our house we love 'kaththarikkaai vathal sambar' very much. try and give me a feed back dear for that sambar you can refer my sub - forum
you can just fry vathals like lady's finger, bitter gourd and have it with curd rice. Even with just plain dhal rice it would taste good.
Mix the vathals in curd and sundry again for few days... More milagai maadri more brinjal and more sundakkai ready. Fry in oil/ghee and have with plain paruppu saadam/ shall rice or lemon rice or curd rice. For dried Mango, use it in sambhar like any other vegetable after soaking in warm water for a little while. Make mangai vathal sambhar or mangai sambhar, use little less tamarind(puli) in that sambhar. Try and let me know! :boo:
