Soup Dinner Challenge

    Nikki- I also used to crib to make soup at home before, as most of time what I made sued to be bland. experiment with some recipes dear, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

    Breeze, I love moong dal and lime juice combo. thats a good one. Never tried bell pepper in it, will do sometime.

    Rajma (Red kidney beans) soup

    I cooked this in a slow cooker, you could pressure cook too.

    2 cans of beans, 4 chopped tomatoes, 1 big garlic pod chopped, (would have added ginger too but had run out of it.) salt, some bisibelebath masala (I add this coz I love this masala that my mom makes) you could add garam masala/sambar masala which ever you like.

    slow cook with some water, I did 2 rounds(60 mins each) once done, roughly mash the beans. and slurrpppp..

    I think, this can be alternated with various beans or a mix of beans.

    june 2nd i had the moong dal soup i made over weekend... but then it didnt make it so full so end up eating 2 slice of whole wheat bread, one chapati... i just eat one cup of soup i dont know if i need to increase it to two....

    i am having some soup in noon time good..i feel good at work... feeling light.. and good... but with two small chapati..

    i am planning to add some beans to my diet as for protein sake but didnt try it so far... dont know when i will try.. but everyday we end up eating soya beans or lentils... as we have lentils everyday ready to eat..

    happy yes just because i add lemon juice to soup no more upset stomach.. otherwise i will be feeling so uncomfy...

    Breeze, I used to add lemon juice only for taste did not pay attention to effects of tummy. Do add some beans it is more filling.

    Yesterday I too had moong dal soup.

    Moong dal dil leaves soup
    Pressure cook 2 cups of moong dal (I stock it hence 1.5 cups), added some tur dal too (1/2 cup), along with 2 chopped onions, 4 chopped tomatoes, half a bunch of chopped fresh dil leaves (was lying in my fridge). Once cooked. in one tea spoon of oil, some jeera, asfotedia, and green chillies; then add to the dal, bring to boil with some salt. Does not need to boil for long.

    Had made with chapathi as dal, as it was less spicy and less salty, I slurrped it as soup.

    Today- not yet made up my mind, will post what I did..
