    long time ago, some one got jealous (My money is on MIL) of dd's resemblance to mom and started this superstition. :) enjoy.

    Daughters can not ever bring bad luck and your little one is a BLESSING(Good karma of you). Actually, you are fortunate to have a daughter who looks like you.

    About your colleagues and ladies, they are just jealous and ignore their CRAP....and may be they don't have anything good to tell..

    Never heard of it. Everyone is born with their own fate. Your DD's face will change over time. You were brought up in a different environment, food, etc and she is brought up in a different environment, food, etc. So don't worry.

    My months old baby girl looks EXACTLY like her father and nothing like me, makes me a little sad. I wish she looked like me, Lucky you and your baby. Enjoy the similarities.

    No wonder that I am too proud and lucky to have her just like me. I am not at all upset or bothered about the comments either.

    In fact, this little one brought too much luck to me personally.

    - Changed my husband to a great person
    - Made me own a big house
    - Lots of promotions at work
    - And also made me a winner of a lucky draw which gave me 20,000 $ last year after her birth

    How can I consider this one unlucky in anyways, but I just want to know from where these people find such words. Just curious though.

    Idle mind is devil's workshop and devils sure are a busy lot churning up ideas to trouble everyone :D

    Like others said before I too have heard that it is considered lucky if daughters look like their father and sons like their mother but nowhere have I heard them to be considered unlucky if girls resemble mom and sons resemble father. Like someone said before this saying is probably brought on by an insecure MIL tsk

    From where do people get so much free time to think up these obnoxious thoughts god only knows and if they do have so much free time why don't they utilize it properly

    how does it matter who the child looks like as long as she is healthy and normal?...Anyway she has 50% of ur husband's DNA...so she may have some other features/characteristics of ur husband. Anyway, it's better if she does not know about these silly superstitions...As she grows up also, make sure that u never let anyone else also make such remarks infront of her as that can make her develop an inferiority complex.
