Pls share tips for strong and healthy finger nails

    I wanted to get some tips and advices for growing stronger and healthier nails. My finger nails chip off and break easily. I have read somewhere that protein deficiency causes nails to break, I am an vegetarian and eat egg occasionally so I am not sure if the chip off is due to the fact that I don't get enough protein. Pls share your ideas to grow healthier and stronger finger nails.

    On a separate note, I was planning to get some artificial nails(temporary) for some special occasions. Any ideas if artificial nails are ok or are they harmful?

    have you ever tried hair, skin and nails supplements? check out in walmart.
    I have been using it for hair and noticed less severe hairfall and ofcourse helped to grow stronger nails.

    Hi,

    Deficiency of calcium also leads to weak nails.
    Its better you consume Milk/milk products.
    Also, you can take carrot to get calcium.
    Better have healthier nutritional diet.
    rub the nails with lemon to get a better look.
    Though we can use artificial nails, its not preferrable as they have side-affects.

    Yes Nalini, i have dropped my intense urge to use artificial nails...i have read the online reviews and i was scared with some of them. I will try the natural remedies you have suggested, thank you
