Looks like he is simply trying to threaten you and drag the case.
He cannot extract any money from you.
He is working, you are not, that means you have to get maintenance and compensation for your loss.

Have you given him anywhere in writing that you want a mutual consent divorce?
If you have not, then it is good. Take a good lawyer and file an objection denying the allegations, telling that you never wanted the divorce, and since your husband is forcing you request for maintenance and compensation.

He is just playing this game to harass you and to defame you. Dont worry. Be strong and find a lawyer.

Your first thing is to find a lawyer. Rules/laws varies by country and within country- each state has diff rules. So only a lawyer in your town/city will be able to assit you with this type of questions.
    Good Luck.

OP, No matter how many replies you get from here, it is still NOT professional advice. You (or whoever concerned) must go to a lawyer for a thorough legal standing.

Plus, is it possible to try and patch up between H and W? what are the issues? Can they make it work - counselling, involving elders?

To reiterate: Go to a lawyer.
