Can we learn each Indian languages through IL?

Hi All,
Can we use this platform for learning each other's language like we learn receipies, art and craft? We would have at least working knowledge of the different languages in our multi colored country. And I won't have to look like a dumb to the threads in other languages.
We could learn it word by word e.g. we write on word in english and then the translation in our languages. Then go to simple sentences.
Tell me how's the idea?

I think it is difficult to learn languages through community sites. You may initially get responses and tutors but each have a role to play and are busy with their own activities, so the lessons will lay still.

Learning language is best possible by trying to talk in that language to a friend.

Yes,it will not be that easy to learn languages via this thread here.
Too time consuming for words & highly impractical.
You want to learn a language,best watch a movie of the same.Its so easy to pick up simple words like that!
Try it once,you will know.

it is difficult to learn languages thro net.
nowadays it is available so many books in all languages to learn

yeah you can learn but only if you have basic knowledge on it already
and you should be surrounded by people speaking that language
cause here you cannot learn pronunciation which is very much an important thing in a language..

hello Ilites,

I too agree with u all in order to learn a language u hve to start speaking in that language with the people around u otherwise its v difficult to pick up a language & watching movies is also a good way of learning !!

Hi all,

i would say its possible to learn, because i started learning Bengali from one our IL friend. I used to give a list of things and she give the translations in Bengali.

It is not a bad idea, yet it will be difficult. We could learn few words through this site. But learning the whole language through the forum is difficult. It is now easy to learn through films and serials.
