Ramathi because both rice and moong dal are very good for a baby so such baby cereals are preferred ...but anything home made should be your first preference.

Dinny and BerryPine thanks a lot for your reply

i started lactogen for my daughter in 6th month.
now still i am giving her lactogen(now she is 15 months old)
should i give her buffalo milk or lactogen or packet milk
    what is best for her

in 10th and 11th month she was dehydrated
and doctors advised to give her lactose free milk(zerolac)
i gave her zerolac for 2 and a half months then i continued lactogen
are there any side effects with this zerolac

Is there a recipe for malt formula for babies for people living in US where whole grains (ragi, wheat, bajra, etc.) are not available? Can we make something using the flours for each of these grains?

Roast each flour lightly. powder the nuts if your kiddo is not allergic. add redrice roasted and powdered. you can add maize flour, wheat flour, soya flour(Very less)..roast everything lightly..it helps in not spoiling fast and also for easier digestion. after this either run once in the food processor for a even mix or sieve it 3/4 times. if run in the food processor sieve it once.

now make porridge as you would regularly.

@rajnigandha Most of these ingredients are available (in their whole form) in Indian stores. Whole foods and trade joes also carry them in their whole form.

You could give the fresh milk in a diluted form too.I used to give pediasure to my son for sometime along with porridges. But mostly it was fresh milk only.
