    Hello everyone,
    It's been a long time since I posted something here in IL. I have been regularly visiting here and reading posts which offer a lot of ideas, support, relief and friends.
    I believe that festivals are special times to celebrate all good things in our life and also be thankful to God for all that we have in our lives. Being in a foreign country I see that these festivals are a chance to pass on our culture to the younger generation. Ganesh chathurthi is one such time which is the beginning of all festivals and Ganesha is always close to our hearts.
    In Tamilnadu there is a tradition of praying Ganesha idol made of sand on this special day after which the idol is immersed in water. The belief behind that is that our lives start and end in the same place.
    Since we don't get sand idols here, my husband made the Ganesha idol from sand clay ,it was very special moment to pray him on this special day. I attach herewith picture of the same. After the sand Ganesha was done we have spray painted it with terracota spray paint.
