Bravo! Way to stand up for yourself and getting out of the hell hole. Because of what you went through in your previous relationship, you will definitely appreciate your current life and will enjoy every bit of it (and you deserve to do so!!) when God shuts one door he opens another one !! Good luck and God bless!

Thank you all for reading a long post. Sweetshreya- I agree with you, my advisor was like my parent to me. I am still in touch with him. I'm actually going to give a talk at IIT during my upcoming trip. I learned that earning a degree doesn't make one educated. Mommie007- I agree with you. I appreciate all the little (and big) things my new family does for me because I know not every one is as lucky as I am. I respect my parents and sisters a lot more because they were there to support my decision without thinking what society would say (no one in my extended family got divorced). My friends were there to help me heal. I know my financial independence played a pivotal role. I joke that by 25 I had a PhD and a divorce under my belt- not bad for a 25 year old :). I'd say that experience helped me grow as an individual and I wish no one should go through what I went through. I could never understood why my character assassination gave him a feeling of superiority. I guess, he had nothing else to feel superior about. As you all said, I'm out of hell and God gave me a wonderful husband to make up for the past.

Hee hee. Not bad indeed. Most people don't even loose their umbilical chord & milk teeth by then. Proud of you :)

Kudos to you for coming out successful despite all hardships.

Agreed, these days there are so many money-made doctors and engineers out there. People who put in real efforts to succeed are sidelined!

1/2 a kilo tomato, Dr. Title, 1 Kg onion for sale!!
