Driver's permit in CA for H4 holders???

    Hello Ladies,

    I am thinking of getting driver's permit so that I can drive to my school. I am on H4 visa (living in bay area)and have applied for ITIN but not recieved yet.
    I would appreciate if someone can guide me through the process, as in, can I apply for a permit without ITIN and do they take driving test also ???:help:

    I think if you have a valid Visa document, it will be fine I guess...
    When I went to DMV for written test, we applied for visa extension and ours is still in process so I was not allowed.

    I gave after we got visa extension...

    I think u may need ur passport for identification and valid visa documents.
