In those days there were no plastics and people had many children.

In these days there is plastics everywhere and people are struggling to get even one child.

Is there a logic between the two?

Yes, Plastic and Stress too.. (maybe, stress, not so much..as the most recent study indicates stress has got nothing to do with fertility issues)..

Thank you all for your replies. I have stopped eating hot food from plastic plates and switching to stainless steel plates. Though it's convenient to heat food from plastic plates in MW and eat directly, I have now realized the health hazards.

You can use glass bowls to reheat food in MW. Glass is chemically inert in there!

    hI Magee,

A small suggestion about replacing the plastic containers - start by collecting small glass bottles of pickles, jams, boost/coffee powder etc. You can use the smaller ones to store masala powders, spices, sugar, salt etc and the 1/2 kg ones for dhal and channas. Once in a while (say about once in 5-6 months) when your budget permits, buy a bigger steel container and over a period of time you can transform your kitchen into a plastic free one. I started mine more than a year ago and its still a long way to be 100% pastic free, but I truly glad that I started the effort in the first place :)

    All the Best!!

even lately i m thinking of avoiding plastics especially for reheating food...the major advantage with the MW friendly plastics is that they are light weight, easy to handle and use..now, i m trying to avoid them..i think it is okay to use them for storing food ( i m talking about dry foodstuffs like spice powders, etc)..
WARNING: Do not use plastic spoons in Ghee, it tends to dissolve over a period of time ..I have experienced it myself. Once I came to know it, I started using steel spoon for ghee.
