Who is going/gone through divorce process in India and US. Please respond here.

My cousins have gone through the process in India recently. One of our family friend was the lawyer and the petitions were mutual. So they had submitted the application in the nearest family court and received the divorce within few months. Fortunately, both of them had no children and they did not claim for maintenance / compensation. But mentally, emotionally and socially it was painful for them as well as for their family.

Find a lawyer known to you or your family. ( trustworthy and reliable ). He will do the rest for you.

Divorce Procedure in India

 

When did you/your spouse apply? -
Did you wait for your spouse to apply? - no, i applied
What type of divorce is it? mutual/contested - no-fault
How did you find the lawyer?- no , i didn't applied directly as it was straight forward and knew what i wanted.
How long did the process take for you? - 3 months
How much money did you spend?- just the court fees and the paperwork fees and some para-legal fees whom i used to verify my paper- say $500-$700 totally.
Did you talk to your ex when this process is going on? - yes , when i started told him
Did your spouse/yourself show hatred during conversations with each other? - yes, of course
Did you get any spousal support/alimony/maintenance?- no, i didn't want any. I didn't even want child support.
Did you ask alimony or the court ordered to give you alimony from your husband? - No , see above.
If your husband/wife cheated you, Did you show it to everyone including court? - not applicable
Did you forgive him and moving on? - no forgiveness , as i can't forgive and forget what happened, but i have made peace with my past which helped me to move forward.

1st-when he made sure he had moved good chunk of money out of USA he filed
2-No fault divorce
3-Thro domestic violence support org
4-Kids involved- hence long- 2 years
5-oh...woow good question cannot answer that in public. I was shocked to see my bill but for what my lawyer fought my case - its OK.
6-yes - only kid related and grocery related no other stuff- almost 1.75 years of my divorce we stayed under the same roof.
7-big time hatred- so much so- he blackmailed me when I decided to fight back with the help of lawyer
8-Yes- nothing substantial but whatever the states rules are in the USA.
9- not applicable because b4 adultery the EVIL INLAWS were there and will always bethere.(Whores make up only one part of the homewreckers- the rest are opposite side's family and friends)
10-FORGIVE AND FORGET- what for and how can I ? He destroyed my past, present and future life and more importantly my small kids life forever who does not even know their ABC properly.
