Hi Priya , South African Diamonds are Famous and are Very Good in their Quality..... usually we get it with 18cart or 9cart gold and not with 22cart like in India.
Also when we compare it with indian rupees they are expensive.
Hand made decoratives are famous as well.,like drums, afrcian art & so on.

And coming to sight seeing ..... it is a beautiful country to visit .....
The places to visit maily are

In Cape Town - table mountain, wine route ,beaches, aquarium, waterfront, robben island,if possible cape agalus (it is were indian ocean and atlantic ocean meets) , cape point & so on.....

A visit to KRUGER NATIONAL PARK AND GAMES DRIVES INSIDE THERE WILL BE THRILLING!!!!!

In Durban - Ushaka Marine world theme park

In J'bourg , Gold reef city is a very good place theme park and it have "gold mine tours inside as well" . Sun City and the Palace of the Lost City are hugely popular tourist attractions offering gambling, golf, extravaganza shows, water sport and an artificial sea which is +/- 3 hrs drive from J'bourg.

These are the information which i know, hope it will be useful for you.

    Regards,
    suba

    Hi Priya

Subha has given you some of the most popular tourist attractions. There is a lot to see and do in South Africa and it's a big country. How long is he planning to stay and will he be going throughout SA? What is he interested in? If he's in Kwazulu Natal, Durban has beaches, nature reserves, temples and a large Indian community.
At the moment flight prices are high, infact the price of everything is going up! There's nothing really cheaper here that you can't get back in the states like clothing etc. But there's African art and crafts that you can get that's specific to SA - paintings, beadwork etc.

    Hi Subha

Isn't it scary? Everything is gone up. I also feel like shopping is now a shocking experience no more a pleasant outing! Imagine 5litre oil used to be R30 and is now R90.

    Hi Guys,

I'm so glad to see that so many of you are familiar with South Africa. I'm a fourth generation South African but am temporarily living in Europe. Reading your posts on SA makes me realise how much I miss home. I'm sure your brother will have a memorable trip- there's plenty to do and we have great weather almost all year round.

    Warm regards,
    Karen
