What is a good gift for a college graduate? A brooch or wallet?

    My brother got me a real pearl necklace with silver beading between the pearls when I graduated from college.

    Now he is getting ready to graduate, and I want to get him something really nice and special. I really need some thoughtful ideas. Here is a little bit of info about him: his major is criminal justice; he is a pretty simple and plain guy- he wears his jeans, vans, and t-shirts everyday. He has been applying to various jobs in the law enforcement and corrections fields, but he is just in the testing phases right now.

    I was thinking about giving a brooch for him and I have already bought gemstones and other materials on pandahall, but I'm not sure if a brooch is a clever idea. Someone said that I can just buy a wallet for him, it's much easy. You guys please give me your thoughts.

    you can give him a nice branded pen with his name engraved on it.. can order it online. there r many sites which offer such service. wud be personalized too :)

    Sorry this one might sound out of place...but a gadget will be more appropriate..guys luv it...be it ipad...iPod.or any smart phone....i am sure you dont mind spending that extra amount to make him happy :)
