Hi Friends, I am very new to this forum and I need few clarification on stitching churidhar... The shoulder portion is not fitting properly on the churidhars I stitch.... Its very loose and very uncomfortable to wear. To correct this what should I do? If I adjust my armhole measurements will the problem be solved.... Kindly some one help me out to solve this problem... Regards Agila:thumbsup
All of us face this problem when we first learn and start sewing. Very few people teach you the tricks / tips and its only through experiment and experience that you improve your skills. One thing that we have to remember for shoulder, neck and armhole is this -- if the neck depth increases, the shoulder width has to be reduced proportionately and also the armhole depth has to be reduced. Generally, deep neck tops have to be fitting at the armhole and the bust, so that the shoulder does not slip off. Usually for every 2-3 inch increase in the neck depth, the shoulder and armhole will be reduced 1/2 to 3/4th inch than the normal measurement. Again, this is not a standard rule and the measures will vary person to person because no two people have to same body structure. I hope I have explained clearly to an extent. Happy experimenting.
Hi, I line with Sunitha. Apart from this, no one have equal shoulder Right side shoulder will always down when compare with left. While cutting the top you have to make the cross cutting at the top borad from arm hole and narrow towards neck. this is normal cutting. If you feel more soulder difference you have to make a specal cut (more cross cut) will make it perfect. (My guess is that your shoulder measurement might not have been taken right.Measure your shoulder from one end to the other and then take half of it-that shoould be your shoulder. If it is even a 1/4 of an inch more, the shoulder will be loose and drooping.
Hi Rajaya The link works perfectly. He showed very nice we have to just work out according to the size which you plan to stitch. Hi, Agith Where you observed loose fitment is it in both the shoulders or any one side ? if it is both the shoulders your measurement is wrong pl. watch this very much helpful she explained how to take perfect arm hole measurement measurements for kameez cutting - YouTube Tomorrow i am planning to sew a new churi scared ...
