    Dear hydgrr,

    If u read above comments I think u should avoid doing such strenuous exercise that too when u r planing for a baby in near future.

    I have a friend of mine.She is a little plump but not fat but somehow after coming to US she has got this idea of getting her body in shape.So she & her husband did heavy exercise in gym for some months.Then almost simultaneously she was even trying for a baby also.She missed her periods for 3 months but HPT was showing negative.Then she went to doctor and came to know that due to heavy exercising her hormones have gone for a toss.Now she is taking medication for settling her hormones and getting periods.Then only she can think of conceiving.I just want u to be careful that all.

    Hi Suji,
    Now you scared me...I dont do heavy exercise but go gym classes twice a week. I guess after reading your post i better be happy with doing some light cardio exercises like walking.

    It is always good to do moderate exercise and keep ourself active than having vigorous exercise and straining our muscles.

    Hi all,

    Its very healthy discussion. As i have undergone nutrition course recently...i can give you some suggestions.... Your food habbit should consistes of all type of nutrients.

    Please don't plan your diet with only fruits and vegetables to shred weight...

    Fruits and vegetables should be part of your diet.

    It will give vitamins and minerals....but not the energy.

    Carbohydrates are main nutirents giving you energy....for example rice, wheat, oats, pulses etc..
    So i suggest you all to have 2 idlys or chappathi or oats..or any items made of wheat or rice...which are rich in carbohydrates.... with one apple or bannana or any fruits.

    For lunch 2 cups of rice with more vegeatbles, dhal..., one fruit

    For evening snacks any bolied pulses, or fruits, or salads...no oily stuffs...or nuts...

    And similalry at night 2 chappathis with more vegetables and fruits.......

    You can have 2 cups of coffee, milk or tea per day....

    You can have one glass of buttermilk... in between.. when you feel hungry...

    Then only you will not loose your energy... or your immunity will reduce....so keep cautious about the diet... that you should not loose your health in the process.

    Before taking diet....please consult with the dietecian....thats always good for your health..

    I think indoor cycling is the best.I have one at home and is very useful, does not require much space and can see the difference in 2 weeks.

    elliptical or treadmill - which is the best

    hi friends,

    i need to lose weight . and am planning to buy an exercise machine .which wud u suggest -an elliptical or a treadmiller .i heard that elliptical exercise machines a comparatively more helpful in losing extra weight and calories.please suggest

    I dont know about elliptical. But last week we bought one treadmill and I am using it for the past 6 days. and I started walking regularly in that. So I recommend you to get one tread mill and do exercise with out fail.:coffeeLet us wait for others comments.
