Since your friends have suggested you have thyroid issues, it may be wise to consult a doctor. Hypothyroidism causes weight gain, hair loss, dry skin, sensitivity to heat/cold and depression.

Just because you have never seen a doctor does not mean it is a good thing! Please visit your local polyclinic and tell the doctor your symptoms and ask for a thyroid function blood test. The result will tell if you need medicines, etc, please ask for a referral to see an endocrinologist, for further testing if required.

    hi upasana..
even i had thyroid problems but mine was post delivery thyroid. i was seriously suffering with this leg pain, fatigue and what not . every day was a challenge for me.
was also breast feeding, cooking for my husband , looking after child alone and added to this i went and stayed with my inlaws everymonth to look after them.
i took tests and doctors and inlaws forced me to take medicines which i strongly stopped.
i still have pain and fatigue but my thyroid is normal range..also my son is 15 months now so i stopped feeding.
MY SINCERE REQUEST IS PLEASE GO AND MEET AYURVEDA DOCTOR AND IF POSSIBLE DIETICIAN.
    this wud definitely help.
now reflux problem again started for me so even i must c dieticain..ha aha..
    gud luck.

lucky 2 it is good to consult the specialist and get their opinion rather than trying it out on your own. Yes thyroid medicines to be taken only when needed. For some it may be lifetime for some it may be required when there is a variation in TSH levels. My doc advise me to do the test once in every two months.

Lucky... I guess 4.3 is normal.. wonder why doc suggested the medicine for that range....any specific reason?...

With 5.85 I think you should continue with your medicine to get your thyroid in control. Even mine is 5.6 and I take 25mcg of levothyroxine daily. But better to consult the doc agian
