oats is a regular breakfast in my house
i make it with milk and brown sugar
oats is highly fibrous and good for many ailments
    but
i found that i become hungry easily after having oats................
when i have dosa or chapathis i dont feel the same.
so oats is an appetizer too?

I dry fry the oats and powder it in mixie. In a tawa, i ll season little jeera and 1 red chillie in little oil and will add grated one carrot and one tomato ( Cut into pieces) and will saute for few minutes and will add boiled water and will add the oats(diluted in water). THis is how i make it like a soup porridge. If needed, salt and Buttermilk can be added and diluted. I like to add sambar or , rasam, kootu, pickle etc to make it more tastier. Whatever is the lunch menu, i try to add a little in the porridge. I hate it sweet.

But I like the taste of readymade soups but dont know what to add to bring that taste. If anyone knows about this, kindly help me.

let me add... oats helps in lactation.

this was a tip my mallish lady told me (i began lactating post 6 days of delivery)..

cook oats with cashewnuts, peanuts, almonds and pistas in milk. add sugar to taste.

i had this regularly for 3 days and started seeing results

Is oats porridge good for school kids (8yrs)? My DD likes it and as its easy to finish off in the morning hurry... she prefers it. Now, does it in any way interfere with the growth of the child - (does it bring any hormonal changes)? This has been my doubt for a long time. But i havent read anything on this aspect. Let me know if any one has any idea... Thanks in advance
