    Informative post, Benny..

Radish is also known to cure ailments such as piles, jaundice, skin ailments, respiratory disorders, kidney disorder and is a powerful food to prevent cancer as well!

Here are few tips to select the right radish for recipes..

    1. The leaves of the radish must be green.
    2. The radish should be firm and not soft.
    3. It should be free of nicks and cracks

Use them right away or store them in plastic bag in refrigerator for future use, after removing the green top.

    Regards.

Thanks all for the useful info and the recipee . Does anyone know what to do with the leaves ? We get fresh Raddish from a daily vendor at doorstep along with the leaves. I usually throw them away .. But was wondering if that can be of some use at all ? Any clue ?

    Hello arunasairam,

We normally dont get radish with leaves so haven't got any chance to try something with it. But I'm sure we could manage to do it like we do our normal green(keerai).

I normally do my palak this way,

    1) Add oil, then mustard seeds and jeera
    2) Add little onion, 2 garlic pods and 1 green chilly
    3) Add the greens available and add salt
    4) Allow it to get boiled and then take off the stove and serve it.

You can also add coconut on top of this if you wish. This is a very easy way to do your keerai and it would be even good to mix with rice and eat. Think this way should also suit radish leaves also.

    arunasairam,

I use the leaves along with the raddish for making dry subzi which can be had along with rice or roti. But wash the leaves thoroughly.

You can lightly saute the leaves and use them along with raw grated raddish in raita.
