    AlokG,

If the Periodontist ruled out braces then, it means, the bone loss is pretty serious. Cosmetic treatment could work, but as I said earlier, if the bone loss is going to worsen, then any treatment to cover the gap could fail. To be precise, if the cosmetic treatment lets say, is successful in me( with a healthy bone ) for atleast 20 years.. in your condition it could be 2 months, 2 years or even 2 weeks depending on the severity of bone loss. Yeah, I know its sad. But has your tooth been wobbling / shaking ? If no, then try and visit a Cosmetic Dentist in your area. COnsult them and ask them what best treatment suits your condition.

You need to take it from there, as to what suits you financially, esthetically and durability.. If the loss of bone is just for one tooth and is not a disease slowly spreadin to the other teeth, then it wont give too much of damage during your pregnancy. But, if the disease is higher in severity, then yes, you are in for some problems again.

But, dont worry about those things now.. Let the baby planning happen and meanwhile visit a Cosmetic Dentist.

Good Luck, Take care and Happy Baby Dancing !

    Hi Preethi,

Thanks for the reply and explanation. That makes sense to me. Sorry for the wrong words i have used for that doctor, but i didn't explained all the 3 hrs conversation with you. bcz i dont want to post all the conversation what she explained to me. She also insulted Indian dentists as well(which made me real anger about her), lot lot other things discussed than the actual problem. Moreover when I went into the hospital, I have taken x-rays with me, those were taken 1month prior to her visit. Then she took them again insisted me to take the new x-rays. I was refused to take the x-rays, but still they have taken. I never slip my word generally, you can imagine how much i have got hurted by that visit. Anyways sorry for that.

I still need a suggestion from you. Recently i have gone through that regenerative procedure, the doctor said it will take atleast an year to see the effect of emdogain. I know it is an experiment but still want to see how it goes if not i will go for extraction of that teeth and will go for implant.

will this possible? like implant for that teeth? or do i need to fix it asap?

for other teeth to get it fixed by byte ordering and night guard? how long it will take to get it fixed by byte ordering?

and spaces between my front teeth? as the bone lose is there i am seeing the spaces, the new doctor who did the cleaning suggested that space can be fixed by veneers? is it possible or is there any other technique to fix the gap and how long it will take?

after all for these 2 things can't be fixed in one month time frame?

can you give me the app cost for these two things, sorry for troubling you much by asking somany things.

    thanks,
    maagi.

Ok.. Are you already pregnant ?? Or you planning to.. Certain Dental treatments including Root Canal THerapy which includes a dose of anesthesia, is done during pregnancy and TOTALLY safe. It is usually carried out in the 2nd trimester. The 1st one is filled with nausea and vomitting and also is a sensitive period, so, its usually avoided at that point. Then the 3rd trimester is like a point where you are so desperate to deliver that you wouldnt mind if the baby comes out of your mouth even.. ! Well, thats why its super comfortable in the 2nd trimester.

So, depending on what treatment you do, you can be assured it will be safe unless it needs super amounts of anesthesia like a surgery kind. So, relax it is fine. Just make sure you tell the Dentist about your pregnancy. THey will probably make you wear a leather jacket before your Xrays are taken. Now, that is whats important.

So, go ahead with the cleaning..( again very safe in pregnancy ) and then let both of them go side by side, pregnancy ( planning ) and treatment.

    Take care

No.. it wont affect breast feeding. Just make sure you tell the Dentist that you are breast feeding. Probably minimum anesthesia will be used.

If you land in pain anytime, then the antibiotics prescribed will also pass through breast milk, so eventually you will be in pain.

Moreover, he is a year and half and must be having enough solids as well isnt. Feed him before your appointment and then try not to feed him the rest of the day, give him more solids. Any medicine you worried will go into BM will be lot lot lesser in a few hours.

Kids will be fine, Aruna, they are fighters. DOnt they take in the first BM given respite the medicines the mommy is given during labour ? So, its fine. Dont worry.

You do nothing , Sofi. :) Just relax. The tooth is still erupting. It will take its time to settle. Any small gaps or big ones as we feel will eventually get fixed up as the other teeth come out and push these closer to each other. Thats exactly why we wait till about 11-13 years to decide wether the person needs braces. Take care. :)

    Puremind,

THese are decay. Yes caused by ' bacteria ' .. These are called NURSING BOTTLE DECAY or RAMPANT CARIES.

How long did you breast and bottle feed her ?
It happens when you had sugar in the milk, dont stop using a bottle when their teeth are out or let them drink from the bottle ' laying down ' while they cry in the night during sleep.

I am sure, you can pick your culprit from one among the above, isnt ?

Ok, now what you can do about it is this -

Visit a Dentist ( Pedodontist, a Child Dental Specialist ) IMMEDIATELY.
Yes, she needs filling for all that. The decay needs to be removed and filling will be done. It will be simple and not painful trust me.. ONLY if you go in NOW.

What will happen if you dont ?

The decay wont stop and it spreads ( thats why its called ' rampant ' because it spreads ) to all the teeth and eventually the bacteria eats up the entire tooth..It leaves behind the root only which may then be called root stumps, which wont fall on it own and needs to be removed.. Now, THAT is painful for a kid. Please dont let her go through all that. Get them fixed.

Will it affect the permanent teeth ?

YES, if the milk tooth doesnt get treated. Yeah, sad and shocking, but true. THe permanent teeth is right below the milk tooth. Spreading of this decay could go deep in and trouble the developing permanent as well.

So, please remember, any trouble to the milk teeth needs to treated as soon as possible depending on the age of the milk tooth. Meaning, if one tooth is about to shed ( fall ) at age 6, and it develops decay at 5 or six months to when its going to be lost, we usually do a simple filling and dont bother too much about it unless it requires attention deeply. But, ALL of your daughter's teeth looks worrisome to me. She has a long long way to go till she start losing them, and that need to be restored. She needs the molars for chewing and biting her food. So, EVERYTHING needs attention and please, I repeat, RIGHT NOW !

Please make an appointment with a Pedodontist.

    Take care..
