why people generally hate Modern-Age daughter-in-law?

Because they stand up for themselves. They dont expect DH to stand up for them. If DH didnt support, DIL's were submissive. Now they dont expect DH's suport and are capable of standing on their own

 

People hate modern age dil because they are independent,sophisticated and smart women who know how to manage career and family.They are always in control of situations,which doesn't sit well with the oldies because they want to be in control of everything that happens in family.

 

I agree with Psych and snm1984.

Modern DILs are independent and can balance between career, home, and relations. Modern husband is also understanding and supports wife with house chores and baby. I think that may be they(MIL generation) had to compromise with their career and did not have support. Probably they are jealous or they remember all the things they could have achieved if they had the support at that time (in their career /home etc)

Also people often get angry to hide the ignorance or inferiority.

 

I do not think PILs hate morden age DILs only, that is just the way DIL MIL/FIl relations are....if you were not too morden, it would have been issue that you are not....it is just the issue of controlloing DIL...that is all

 

lol - so well put- just want to control dil so dh does not form a bond with someone outside their "blood"

 

That is just a label they put on her to explain why they r not getting along with her. If its their daughter it will be a diff story.

 

Some daughters-in-law are well trained and well mannered....
