Underarm hair removal..is it necessary?

    I recently got my arms waxed at a parlour for the first time in my life.A friend told me that it is hygienic to get your underarm hair removed.Is it true?I don't wear sleeveless.Should I do it?

    This has got to do more with comfort than with hygiene.

    Bacteria can breed in unclean underarms, whether waxed or not. You will still sweat the same. But when bacteria breeds then there are chances of foul smells emanating if your underarms are not hygienic. Bathing twice a day ( I notice you are in Chennai) and using deos can eliminate the need for waxing your underarms if you don't want to do so.

    Oh I thought it will reduce sweating.Since I sweat a lot in my underarms.

    If I think of doing it how painful it will be and how often will I have to do it?Arm wax was bearable at the parlour.

    depending on ur growth....may be once in 20-30 days...once u feel the discomfort u can go for it....

    The best way to remove under-arm hair is waxing. You can get it done whenever you go for your arms/legs waxing at the same time.I time my waxing sessions once a month.
    Waxing will also soften the hair-growth and unlike hair-removing creams, your skin will not get dark with waxing.
    It juts makes you feel clean and also there will be no sweat odour in summer.
    It does not cost much. It depends upon the saloon you visit. Should not cost you more than a 100 bucks in a good saloon. My beautician charges rs.60

    Thank you,I am going for arm waxing this Sunday.I will get my underarms done too.Do I have to wear sleeveless while going to the parlour or something?Never worn it.

    Its not necessary to wear sleeveless, they will provide u apron to wear in parlour itself.. I've paid between Rs.50-70.. Regular waxing will reduce the pain.. Good Luck..:)

    Thank you.I thought all the while that underarm waxing is necessary only if you wear sleeveless.Anyways thanks for telling its benefits.I will do it this Sunday.Hope it is bearable pain.
