    Hi Durga,

Thank you so much for the reply. I have started the medicines and I do not have any side effects. I am taking (ISONIAZID (600mg)+ RIFAMPICIN (300mg) (single tablet) ) before breakfast, PYRAZINAMIDE (1500 mg) andETHAMBUTOL (1000 mg) after breakfast. He said after 2 months one of the medicines will be stopped.

I had endometrial biopsy and I guess it was a histology of the endomterial cells. I had my reports in 3 weeks. I guess mine is not PCR diagnosis. Is this diagnosis sufficient or do I need furtehr diagnosis. I am being sent to TB specialist and he is doing further testes like chest X-Ray, CBP, and LFT tests. after two weeks. I am not sure what the second and third tests are.

I have a history of 3 miscarriages at 15 weeks. Does endometrial TB cause miscarriages this late also. I am also diagnosed as having NK cells and no hign TNF alpha. I am being diagnosed for uterus TB becasue after last miscariage I was not able to conceive for 8 months. I went for 4 IUI one of which resulted in Ectopic. Hence was tested for TB, TNF alpha and NK cells. I did not have any hystenisalpinogram, hysterscopy or laproscopy. What I read is TB first effects the fallopian tubes and then the endometrium. I am worried if my tubes are OK or not. What I read is TB of fallopain tubes is irreversible. DOe it mean I definetly have to go for IVF. How do I make sure my tubes are fine.

Dear Durga.. Just do not worry...

I am also in the same kind of situation of yours... You have more posibilities to become pregnant again as already you are now.. there is no obstacles at all in you.

As you have told that your doctor is very superb.. i recommend you to reduce worries.. i know it cannot be stopped.. Just pray and once again visit the temple if you are feeling soo much tensed..

in my case.. i have everything as normal, from blood to the biopsy. I do not have TB. I have my left tube blocked that is what that hell painful HSG report says. I am also going for laproscopy, let see whats the next SHOCK..

My sincere prayers to you to get well soon darling... do not worry and be depressed ok..

Your diagnosis is right, and the medicines are the same as i took. LFT(Liver Function Test) is a blood test which is done every month or once in 2 months to check if your liver is not over loaded due to the medicine. Avoid oily foods during the course of the medicines, so as to not give too much work to the liver. (It is already processing an important drug) Also i took 2 LIV 52 tablets twice a day, which takes care of liver. Hence my LFT was always fine throughout the course of medicines. It is an ayurvedic medicine from Himalaya pharma.

In case your LFT in any time, crosses the limit, they will ask you to stop all the tablets for a week and then continue to give your liver a rest. You can try the LIV 52, as it is a general medicine and anybody can take it, and no side effects.

I do not understand other terms that u have mentioned in the post like NK, TNF etc. As you heard, TB medicines that we take, shrinks the surface of the tubes or uterus, where the bacteria sits. But I conceived normally after the 9 months, means the medicines are not that bad too.

I know a person, who had removed one of the tubes, and had only one ovary functioning, and yet having 2 kids now. So stay positive... Wish u good luck.

    Hi,
My husband and I have been tyring to conceive for 1.5 years+. Last year, we went to doc and she diagnosed me with PCOD. It came as quite a shock to us but she quickly put me on hormones (for ovulation and for good uterine line fomation). I did about 4 cycles along with a follicular study. I ovulated normally in all 4 cycles and also had a good lining formation but did not concieve. After these cycles, when we got a little worried with the lack of success the doc prescribed IUI. In the meanwhile, we also consulted another doctor who tested me for genital TB (TB PCR) which came out positive. This new doc put me on ATK 4 for the first 2 months, followed by ATK 2. I have already completed 4 months of treatment and have 2 more months to go.
The doc had told us to start trying after 2 months of medication. We did try in the last cycle but were not succeessful. The doc has asked us to get Tubal study done in the 5th month of treatment which will then tell us if my tubes are harmed in anyway.
Whatever I have read on the internet just saps me out of any hope which i may otherwise harbour. The chances of conception seem low. I also turned 32 this June so don't really have age on my side.

Wanted to understand if anybody has been able to conceive naturally or otherwise after being diagnosed with Genital TB. Also, what are the odds of tubal damage if the uterine lining tested positive?

    Thanks for your help

    babelfish,

Even I am in the same situation. I am assuming Histinosalpinogram( HSG) would say if the tubes are blocked or not. Ask for an HSG to be done as soon as possible.

My Doc had asked me to get it done only in the 5th month as there is a fear of infection getting spread according to her. I am anyway planning to meet her and ask for an hSg as I don't want to waste any more precious time. Just wanted to understand if you had any physical symptoms before your TB got diagnosed. I have read of false positives in TB pcr. I always wonder if I am getting overtreared and losing time..:-(

    Durga and Babefish,

Did you guys have any itching when your taking the medicines. I am having severe vaginal itching. I am not sure if its because of this. I am applying Candid-V cream which I am brought by myself and I am feeling better. Please let me know is this one of the side effects of the medicine. Did your doctor mention anything about this.

    Babefish,

If you look into Malpani website he thinks its a waste of time to take TB treatment because the diagnosis is not accurate. Just becasue it is positive it does not mean we have TB. How about going for a Laproscopy instead of HSG to check the tubes. With Laproscopy, I hope the infection will not spread. Moreover, they can also clean the scarred tissue. Just my understanding.

    Thanks
    Divya

I did not have any symptom like the ones you mention. Could be a vaginal infection. I don't know for sure but medications at times do tend to have an impact on your immunity making you more prone to yeast infections/ uti's.

    Belfish,

I haven't got any thing done recently. By the way the TB specialist said that the infection gets cleared within 2 weeks. The remaining period would be to kill the bacteria. The scarring or damage caused to fallopian tube is irreversible. You can take a second opinion about infection being spread if an HSG is done.
