Taking off on Bindu's suggestion .....

If you have old copper / brass containers that were used to hold water in the olden days ( in telugu we used to call them gangalam) They serve the purpose very ideally and are decorative to look at if polished. Even the clay grain holders can be used (the huge ones used by farmers to store the grains). They are collectors rage here in the U.S. Quite a few of my friends have them shipped to here from their ancestral homes. Each and every old container we can find a new use as planters, vases, umbrella holders or just for decorative display.

 

Plant ornamental plants like : picus, picus benzamina, Benzamina exotica and suflera which require less sunshine and maint free too..
