Wow Nice old Madurai photos and Tears are falling down thinking of Madurai.................. I want to come but cannot till Dec 2010...................Months to go Iam from Madurai Thirunagar.. Did schooling in Sitalakshmi girls H.Sec.school, thirunagar and college in Fatima College... Still searching my friends of school and college.... Well well....How you people forgot Madurai special ( near Meenahkshi Kovil they sell) Coconut tree stem.......... I enjoyed that back in 1990s. + Opp railway station halwa shop -----hot hot garama garam halwa,,,,,,, Actually My DH fell in love with our Madurai Halwa and married me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Winter ( Markhali month) Madurai Rangoli -----Nowhere else i saw these big big kolam..with yellow flower in the centre. I remember my friends get up early and have a bath at 4.30am and start the kolam and later in the class ----------discuss the kolam and type and critisize and cry ............................. ( My house - My mum only always do the kolam - she never allow anyone else) In karthigai ------again competition about vilagu arrangement....in kolam.. Those are days i still still stilllllll ( not getting the correct word - stuck in throat and not coming out). Namma Madurai Namma Madura thaannnnn. Now in last twenty years it changed a lot..................I feel so... I love and cherish the 1980s and 1990s MADURAI........... The last i came to Madurai is March 2008 to my mum's home.... Sometimes I wish ................................................wish...................... Yes yes Madura Malli -- I remember i used to buy 200 for 25p back in 1980s end. Now what is the rate of malli? As a working mother , I cut my hairs from hip length to shoulder length,,,, so no chance to keep lots of mallis.... I bought 100 chennai Malli ( not tied closely likein Madurai) here In Abu dhabi for AED 10. ( means 120 Rs) Today Temp is UAE is just 44 degrees,, Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!hot climate. How is Madurai?
