    you are welcome dear,am not sure where in chennai you could buy ,i think any big saree store must be having them,maybe others can help you on this.

    Also Chikan work from lucknow looks very cool n elegant in summer in lovely pastel colours

    So far I have collected the following types of Sarees. And also I bought 3 Raw silk saree on this weekend and i have given for Blouse stitching with Embroidery work!!! Hope it will turn Gud!!! If anybody knows any saree type other than the listed ones below... please update the list.

    1. Chikan(white embroidery) work & Karai Sari from Lucknow
    2. Baluchari saree
    3. valkalam,patola from gujarat
    4. bandni(variety of symbols including, dots, squares, waves and stripes,bright and contrasting colour combinations) and lehria from rajasthan
    5. kantha(thread embroidery) work and baluchari(has Ramayan Scenes) from west bengal
    6. banaresi from banaras
    7. paithani from maharastra(hand woven, fine silk sarees with Colourful flowers.considered richest saree in maharashtra)
    8. sambalpuri and bomkai from Odisha
    9. bengali tangail cotton
    10.embroidary sarees
    11.Jamdani(transparent muslin like cloth-peacock,vines & flowers)/Daccai saree
    12.Tant(cotton saree with broad pallu and gold thread work borders)
    13.Ikat saree(have heavy threadwork borders and pallus with geometric ikat patterning)
    14.Chanderi from Madhya Pradesh(generally plain, light and highly translucent sarees with golden borders and small booties all over)
    15.Venkatagiri from AP(Jari cotton sarees)
    16.Gadwal from AP(mix of cotton and silk)
    17.Pochamballi from AP
    18.Mysore silk
    19.Kalamkari (dying art)
    20.Art Silk saree
    21.Georgette Sari
    22.Chiffon Sari
    23.Crape Sari
    24.Tepata silk Sari
    25.Apoorva Bangalore silk Sari
    26.Akola Sari , Bagru Sari , Barmeri Sari , Sanganeri Sari(cotton) from Rajasthan
