    Hi,

    I am a South Indian married working women.I love sarees very much and I love to wear it also. I am planning:idea to buy different types of Sarees. I am planning to collect sarees of other states like Kerala,AP,Bengal etc.,.So ladies kindly :help me in collecting information of these sarees.Already I am having Kanchipuram pattu saree, Cotton Saree, Kora silk saree and some synthetic sarees. Give me the Types of Sarees availabe in each state and what will be their minimum cost, if possible images of that saree type and availability of those sarees in other states.

    India is a treasurehouse for sarees,some of the varieties i know are valkalam,patola from gujarat,bandni and lehria from rajasthan,kanta work and baluchari(has Ramayan Scenes) from west bengal,banaresi from banaras,paithani from maharastra


    Regarding the price tag ....well the sky is the limit.

    Hi Karthika,
    You can go for sambalpuri and bomkai these are from Odisha. And I must say you would love the cottons from sambalpuri and bomkai. As they are handlooms the price starts from 1000 onwards. But you can see the quality and the elegance. Will post pictures soon apart from that bengali tangail cotton and silk are very nice also you would be having madurai cotton I am sure.

    Thank u for the info... I heard abt madurai chungidi saree? Is it the same what u r talking abt....And thank u very much for the sarees from other state. At prasent I am in Tamil Nadu...I dont know where we will get theses sareees. I once heard that Khadicraft is having almost all types of sarees from other states...I will give a try there!!

    Hi Karthika,
    For different kid of sarees u can try rangachari at mylapore, kumaran silks at t nagar both stores has many varities. U can also try rasi silks near kabaleeshwarar temple mylapore.
