How long are you going to stay at your ILs? It's quite a tricky situation and I think be prepared to do a lot of work. Since your ILs have never seen your kids, you cannot expect anything about how there interaction with your kids is going to be. Go with an open mind and also keep your plans open. Learn to be assertive even before you land. Try to do as much as you can without any negative thoughts. If you feel, the atmosphere is getting too negative, cut your stay short. Keep it pleasant as far as possible. Since, you haven't visited your ILs in 6 years, they don't seem to be pushy and my guess is they won't stop you from leaving.
