    Dear,

Can anyone tell me the significance of Manjal Theiytthu Kolikkarathu especially why it is compulsory after Marriage? Why it is to be applied only on the forehead and the two sides of the face before ears?

    Regards

    Dear Sunkan,

Thanks a lot for an immediate reply. But actually i wanted to know why only in three places of the face it has been applied precisely. What is the significance of that? If you could able to tell me this it will be very helpful.

    Regards
    Smrithi K

    Hi Smrithi,
Usually they say that Aagna Chakra is between the eye-brows and it is the place where Goddess Lakshmi resides ( reason for keeping kumkum), maybe that;s also the reason for applying manjal there.
Maybe as they don't want to have a unibrow, applying manjal there works well. This maybe the same case for the side burns too.

    dear smrithi,
manjal is a anti biotic stuff, which will help to stop growth of hair in between the brows and avoid beard and moustache in female child, that is y we start very young while in oil bath this is a must, no water is added just the manjal is applied all over the body over the breast and private parts to avoid heavy growth and no growth area too, it burns the roots of the hair, so that your skin becomes smooth, for some it has a burning sensation it has nothing to do with manjal but the skin may be having some eruptions not visible to the naked eye, and this will get cleansed if you add neem leaves they also help to heal the skin.of course a little cream goes a long way in winter after the bath, as the skin is very dry..sunkan
