Dear Sai, its good idea to add tomato also to the dosa that sabari suggested. As I said earlier I love tomato dosa.. will try this... Mithy, I see capsicums in abundant here.. but never buy it as I dont know what to do with it.. Please give your capsicum masala rice.. I will buy tri-color capsicum and do this... Capsicum Masala rice: I got this recipe from a blog. Roast and grind to fine powder : Red chillies - 1 long one Coriander seeds or powder - 1tsp Cumin seeds - 1/3tsp Peppercorns - 1/4tsp Urad dal - 1tsp Tuvar dal - 1tsp Peanuts - 1tbsp Heat ghee and oil - 1tsp each. Fry few curry leaves, urad dal and chana dal. Add sliced capsicums and saute till they are cooked. Add the powdered masala and salt. Finally mix cooked rice [about 2cups].

Yesterday's Friday special was Kozhukkattai. Its my mom's recipe. Coarse grind 1 cup rice, 1/4 cup tuvar dhal [No need to soak]. Then fry onions [seasoning first with mustard, chenna dhal, curry leaves, red chillies] , add water 2:1 ratio to the rice,dhal mixture. Here I used 2.5 cups of water. After the water came to boiling level, add the grinded mixture. Stir the mixture well, in 2 minutes the water will be absorbed and the mixture will be hard. Then leave it to cool, then make balls and steam in idly cooker. Very tasty tiffin. We had it for dinner. Girls please accept my apologies if I keep sharing some basic recipes which you all know them already and made them plenty of times... These are new to me, so I am really excited to share with you all... To be frank, I am trying new recipes more often only after joining this thread... FOr upma kozhukatti. this recipe sound good..I will try it out. instead of thuvar dhall, I add,urad dhall soak for few minute& grind with little coconut..after that , same procedure to be followed.
