Mere thanks is not at all enough as I can always count on you for all kind of favors!!!

Yes, atlast found the pattani paruppu as you said under the name of yellow split peas. So far, have crossed that area many times, still, thought that it was channa dal or something.

    Nannari Sherbet

    Dear Mrs Chitra,

I was reading the discussion between Vidya and you about Madurai Meenakshi and Nannari Sherbet. Do you know I love it so much that when every summer we would go to Karaikudi(my native place), we would bring 3-4 bottles and stock it for the rest of the year and I would finish them all in a matter of couple to few months!!

I was thrilled to find Nannari Sherbet here in the Indian Stores and now buy it as part of bi-weekly grocery shopping!!! Could you post the recipe of the same? I was wondering where we could find the nannari roots and herbs though....

Also can we make ragi malt powder at home? I love it too, and buy it regularly at the stores.

    Thanks

    Shal

    For Shal

    Hi Shal,

Nannari is sarsaparilla root in english. You could try whole foods market to see if they have it. Or try the Berryessa Flea Market. They might have. If you have been there, then you would know the amazing variety of things we get there.
