You cannot " reduce" sweetness !

The only thing you can do is, making some more B H with less sugar & mixing both - the law of averages will work !
    Love & regards,
    Chithra.

    yes, yes, maavilakku mavu

    Dear Chithra,
I was also thinking about this. My inlaws do not follow that, so I do not know how to make it. I like it very much, though. My mother makes, but measurement is a problem (all kan alavu only). Do post the recipe also.
    Thanks in advance.
Made CVVK and avial (Kerala style this time) yesterday. Wow, wow.
    With warm wishes,
    Varloo

    Couple of queries.

    Hi Mrs.Chithra,

The first question is that while making any crispy vada(not ulundhu), how to retain the crispiness even for tomorrow. Whatever I made at home so far used to come out crispy, but, tthe next day, it became soft though the taste stays the same. Saw the masala vada recipe and particularly, the tip of adding oil; will it stay crispy like the savories??

Next question is need to know the English/Hindi name for pattani paruppu. Heard from many people and watching in TV abt that paruppu's taste. Any idea??

    Thanks.

p.s.: People those who are in US, pls let me know under what name the pattani paruppu is available in the markets.

    Hello Ami !

The tip of adding hot oil holds good only for masal vaai & ama vadai ( to a certain extent).
I do noy know the name for pattani paruppu.
    Love & regards,
    Chithra.

    Soft Kodubale

    Hi Chitra

After watching this programme on TV where they gave the recipe to make kodubale, i went ahead and tried ...and it turned out to be soft and mushy:cry: The ingredients were equal quantities of Maida and rice flour roasted in butter and 3-4 tbsp of groundnut coarsely ground, a little chilli pwd and salt.
Please let me know what I can add to this dough so that it will be crisper.

    Thanks

    I am sorry, Divya !

I do not think, I can suggest " repair work" for somebody else's recipe !
Discard it & make fresh from the recipes - Vidya 24 had given you.
    Love & regards,
    Chithra.

    For Ami

    Hi Ami,

Am not sure , but is it Yellow Split peas. This is available in Indian Stores, and it looks very similar to Kadala paruppu.
