Sadhu... Nice to hear you are also an ardent advocate of simple weddings like me. But Dear-Weddings are matters involving 2 families so many have to strike a compromise somewhere... Personally I feel it is a colossal drain of hard earned money in a single day. If this practise is curbed effectively,then lots of families will escape the debt trap in our country.

Though im a finance pro, my DW takes charge when its time for increment arrears and variable pay! It really helps as we dont get tempted to waste an opportunity to put the lumpsum in the basket. Also, my DW creates a kind of a situation like taking a loan in such a way that the increment amount gets paid as EMI thro' bank auto transfer! This really helps to save as a habit. :thumbsup to my DW.
