Hi all, am married and this is the 2nd year. I am in my early 20s and am writing it for the first time. So i don't know how to put my words. I need your help as I dress up like a typical Indian woman (salwar kameez or chudidar with sleeves). The problem is, my hubby does not like my dreesing and so does not want me to join him any where with his friends or collegues. My problem is my PIL doesnt allow for sleeveless. So please help me to change my dressing within limits. Moderator Note:Please do not use chat/sms style writing in your posts. Happy to help you out,...but few questions,.. when you see with sleeves,...is it short tight sleeves or long ones.It is not necessary to wear sleeveless to look good. You should not wear baggy chudis,...it will look nice if it fits u well,...you have dupatta so dont have to worry about looking indecent.Especially in early twenties you will be fit with good figure so dont try to hide urself behind baggy clothes. If you wear free size chudi please alter it to fit you well.Another option is getting the material and stitching Please do wear matching accessories,...ear-rings necklace sets according to your budget.I have a huge collection of accesories and always wear them with my shalwars. If you have very long hair you can think of a more updated haircut. Additionally its good to have a good skin care routine. Cleanse and moisurize regularly,..its good to use a good face pack. If you do all these things you will look good,..only changing the chudi design wont help match. I dont know ur height, size or colour to give further recommendations,..but select dresses to suit your skin colour. It is very important to look attractive to your husband. You could also ask him for ideas,...does he like you wearing anything in particular?
Dear Aaha.... As supriya has mentioned,it is definetely not necessary to wear sleeveless or short shirts or something western to really look nice....using sarees and chudis ,you can change your look Letme tell me my story...just like you,i too wear chudis and sarees, along with that i wear long skirts with kurta,or jean with kurta...i dont wear sleeveless, tight body fit dresses,t-shirts but still i maintain my looks and my DH and all others around me compliment me for my dressing Few suggestions and things i follow for my external appearance (1)Choose dresses based on your complexion and height.Dont wear loose fitting dresses. If you are thin, and dont have sagging bulky arms, you can wear short sleeves..Try to change the pattern of stiching dress, the style of stiching, colours and material... (2)keep your face fresh....go to a parlour and in case you dont do threading, facial, waxing on a regular basis, start it now...all these once in 1 1/2 months is more than enough....along with this, when you are home, every week,do CTM with good branded products....either go for homemade facial packs or from market but make sure you get products that suit your skin well...for your face on a regular basis, choose a cream that suits your skin and see to that its not oily...use light makeup...here again you dont need to use foundations, mascara, eye makeup on regular basis...a good quality cream, followed by eyeliner, light lipstick with bindi would do wonders on daily basis...apply nail polish, choose carefully the colours that suit you (3)Smell good...choose good deos and perfumes(in fact you can take your DH consultaion in this because he can choose the perfumes he likes best on you) (4)buy good sandals that match your feet ...maybe in 3-4 colours that would go well with all dresses (5)ofcourse matching accessories, these do a lot....wear simple matching earings, neck chain(not necklace),bangles on a regular basis....when you go out depending on the dress you wear make them simple or grand.... (6)If people at home and your DH dont mind haircut,go for a trendy one that suits best for you....or atleast if you and your family is not fine with a haircut,go for a simple U-V cut or just trim your hair every 2-3 months...along with this, try to change your hairstyle that suits you better.... (7)If you have some pimples, acne,or any other skin related issues, clear them off all now...consult a skin specialist for help Hope you find my suggestions useful!!!!!!!!
