Dark area around lips due to threading

    Hi ladies,

I have been threading my upper lip and eyebrows for a few years now. However, I have noticed and a couple of my friends have pointed out that the area around my lips is darker than the rest of my face. I have a fair complexion and it looks odd. Even though it has been only a few hours since I got my upper lips threaded, the area around my lips show the darkness and it doesnt look if I have threaded them. Will waxing help? I have tried waxing a few times, but to be frank never noticed the difference. Also, I have internal growth of hair.

Is there any home remedy for this problem? The area around my eyebrows is fine though.

Please help me. Thanks in advance. :bowdown

Re: Dark area around lips due to threading

Try the REM Spring for threading your upper lip if the darkness is because of the peach fuzz, the spring is super for dealing with the darkness resulting from hair just beneath the skin, as it pulls them out from the root that threading sometimes doesn't get (I know, I used to think threading was the best, but I'm sold on the spring after using it...!)

If the darkness is because of hyper pigmentation, you could try a brightening serum or just plain old lemon juice scrub with honey.

Sometimes, the darkness happens because of hormonal changes... consult your doc if something's different now with respect to that though!
