    Dear Chithra Ma'am

    Hope you are well.

By God's grace and good wishes of well wishers such as yourselves, my husband and i have been blessed with a baby daughter 2 months back.

Kindly could you elaborate on rituals to be done for baby esp those in the first few years after birth esp those applicable to girls. We were able to have punyahavachanam and namakaranam done through a temple priest, however we are not sure about others esp how to conduct them at home in the event we are unable to arrange for priests on all occasions.

    Thanks
    Namaskaram

    Dear Pavi,
    Congratulations!
The only ritual is annaprasanam which is done on or after the sixth month. The baby is usually taken to a Krishnar temple & fed there in front of the deity. The baby is made to sit on the father's lap & fed a spoonful of palpayasam by both parents.
You can do this in any temple.
There is no other ritual except ayushhoma done for first birthday.
    My blessings to your baby!:)
