Thanks 1janavi. Your thoughts are so true. Got reminded of the song "Circle of Life"

    Lyrics:

From the day we arrive on the planet
And blinking, step into the sun
There's more to see than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done
There's far too much to take in here
More to find than can ever be found
    But the sun rolling high
    Through the sapphire sky
Keeps great and small on the endless round

    It's the Circle of Life
    And it moves us all
    Through despair and hope
    Through faith and love
    Till we find our place
    On the path unwinding
    In the Circle
    The Circle of Life

very touching aspire. yes, our parents grow old and need to be taken care of the way we were by them when we were young. we try our best, but may be challenged when it comes to standing up to our own expectations of ourselves as caretakers. we might lack time, we may show bouts of impatience, exasperation, frustration or sometimes sheer laziness and then feel ashamed of ourselves. we keep trying, falling and getting up and trying again. hope we all can reach that goal of perfection some day. hope our humanity triumphs over our human imperfections someday.

Dash it Aspire! You made me cry and I was so not planning on crying...

It also got me thinking morbid but necessary thoughts.

This remindes me of my grandpa who died sorta alone even though he had so many relatives surrounding him at the time of his death.

I hope I can be there for my parents whenever they need me as they get older and older. They are very straightforward and ask when they need anything and that helps tremendously because I would not know by myself. They have no ego with thier children and thats a blessing.

I, However, have ego still. I do not want my little boy to have to take care of me. The last thing I want is pity from him and be a burden to him. I plan on making arrangements for myself and DH so that he will be welcome to visit but won't have to. I want him to be free and happy for always. No pressures for him to be this or that or do this or that on my behalf. I just hope and pray I can execute this plan as well.

Lovely video. I am forwarding it to other peeps in my life. Thanks.

DNM: I believe sometimes "being vulnerable" has its own power on how we relate with each other. Manytimes things are not in our control, though we think it is. Showing your vulnerable side to your children, may bond them closer to you. We feeling vulnerable is natural especially more so in old age. The video is all about that.

I see many times my parents behaving like a child with me and they are in their 65+ . They stay with me. I am hoping I will be there for them till their end.

Sharing another video link which talks about vulnerability. Hope you all like it.

DNM,My Thoughts were on the same lines of Aspire that being vulnerable is good...

In my experience I also know that the ones with the "egoes" are the vulnerable straight forward ones....I love them...

My Grandfather was the one like you mentioned.I loved taking care of him....His
ego that no body should take care of him and him feeling very awkward when he wanted help..... had only made me love him more and more.....Miss my grandpa....
