Thank u., Sreema, Vijaya, Kakshmi..!! and Praveenaj..!! :hiya The procedure: Decoupage means basically : to use paper cutouts and paint ..or even mseal for texture effects-- in a single frame, esp. where the picture is difficult to paint as such..eg. miniatures, God-faces, etc..U can do this on a pot / wooden piece /..... 1. select a picture u want to use- from a poster, greetingcard, calender, etc. 2. cut out the pictures finely( along the outline with a sharp scissor) 3. if the paper is thick, you will have to dip it in water for a min. or 2, so that you can peel out the extra layer from the backside to make it thinner..peel it carefully, as the paper will be prone to tearing, now that it is wet ! let it dry well ..and see that is laid out flat...!! 4. now position ur cutouts roughly..so that you can plan out the background which you will have to paint... 5. now start painting the background ..you can also refer to the original picture for ideas...you can even use mseal or ceramic paste for giving textures (eg. in my pot- the tree-stem part.) 6. after you finish painting, you can stick the picture cutouts with fevicol or "glue and gloss"....apply the glue carefully and just enough- so that the paper doesnt tear.... 7. run a rag over the picture to smoothen it at the edges ,after sticking....it shouldnt appear as though it has been stuck at all...!! it should blend naturally with the painted part... 8. let dry well 9, after the decoupaged base is completely done with, you will have give atleast 3 coats of varnish with a diluted solution of glue and gloss....do give a drying time of atleast 3-4 hours in between each coat..!! your decoupaged ( pronounced as de-copaajd) pot is ready..!! :thumbsup I hope I am clear...:cheers..you are welcome to ask me if you couldnt understand any step....
