Let me give it a try now ! I hope Rose does not get thoroughly confused. Well Rose is not confused YET, is probably the right thing to say isn't it? YET stands inbetween something that has been happening and ceases to happen or vice-versa. In my example about Rose, she is not confused at the moment, but possibly will, after she reads my explanation . Rose is STILL confused means, she was confused before. And even after reading through the explanations, she remains confused. Now looking at Rose's examples, I feel Saras is right. The second sentence seems right. But I think the punctuation possibly needs to be placed differently. I DO NOT HAVE TIME. STILL, I WANT TO DO IT. The first sentence probably should be I DO NOT HAVE TIME YET TO DO IT. Can we have a teacher here please?
K2S, neat explanation :thumbsup. After reading it I thought you could be a good teacher :biggrin2: . Today a new member introduced herself in that intro thread..where she mentioned that she was an English Literature teacher in Delhi. I have directed her to this thread. Hope she notices it. We, specially I, do need a teacher. My English is getting pathetic :bonk.
Hi Friends I am looking for the correct usage of the word "LEVERAGE" While I see that of the various meanings of the word, one of them is to enhance or improve Would this sentence be grammatically correct " Seeking to secure a position leveraging strong analytical skills using various methodologies."
I too am waiting to know more about what pranam has asked for. By the way, pranam--I liked your signature quote..simply because I am a fan of Winnie the Pooh :biggrin2:
Saras and Pranam, We often use this word in our day to day work. It could have a different connotation in our parlance but it means taking advantage of something that exists in a form to enhance or create something else. "Leverage the existing legacy system to build a new dynamic and resilient system" Yes it is tad confusing with the multiple meanings and connotations that this word is associated with. Well, glad that this thread has been revived now.:thumbsup
For all LOL, OMG usage fans, here's an article of interest LOL, OMG, and no these are not words used by new generation...they date way back
