Hi all,

I had a question about sashti vratham. I observed my first vratham on 10th Jan this year. I believe there are 2 shashti's every month, the next one is 25th or 26th of Jan. But this one is after pournami.

I had read somewhere that you have to observe fast on only the shashti after the no moon, so that the moon is growing after that.

What do all of you do? Do you observe fast for both the sashti's?

Shashti vratham is observed on the sixthday after amavasya(New Moon day)

i observe shasti fast a day after amavasai which called Prathamai till shasti tithi . Means i fast and recite Kandha shasti Kavacham for 6 days without fail.

And i also fast every tuesday since Tuesday is very auspicious for Murugaperuman. I used offer moong dal payasam and red flower for my murugaperuman and recite Kandha Shasti Kavacham.
I do the same for any special days for Muruganperuman such as Thaipusam, Vaikasi Visagam & Masi Magam.

Surrender urself to Murugaperuman, and He will answer ur prayers soon dear.

we are all in the same boat.. God have made us meet in IL for a reason, i guess...

well, i'm a bit ok now... having gastric pain every now and then. taking medicine for that... yes, u are rite dear...
we can find baby's gender in 20weeks (5months) but normally gyne wont tell unless we request ! Anyway me and my hubby decided not to ask about it... a little suprise for both of us...

dear, remember that next week, we need to start our shasti pooja...
