    Hi ,

My little one who is 3 weeks old does'nt sleep on her back . Instead, she turns her head to the right side while sleeping. I am concerned about the flat head syndrome she may develop if she continue with her sleeping position. How can I correct this and make her to sleep on her back ?

I appreciate any suggestions/advice from IL members.

    Thanks,

    Neeraja

    Hi,
Babies have their way out, eh?!

U can buy those baby pillows. They come with a gap for the head and support either sides of the head. So at best, LO will have to try hard and push her heads. If they are in deep sleep, U can stragihten her head within the gap.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers,
    Cathzeta

    Hi

My baby had the same problem. She never liked the pillows though and refused to use them. But, once she rolled over the scenario changed ...
So, I do not think there is anything to worry, wait for some months.

very common thing. buy the baby pillow - its really good and the baby will sleep well. atleast mine did. i used it until ds was 6 months old. when he started to turn, then it was useless. and i moved to a very thin normal pillow.that too he doesnt use the entire night - moves out of it within 2 hrs!!

my ds too used to tend to turn more toards right side. at 3 months i realized his head was slightly flat from one side. but with time and as he grew, its normal now :). he is 15 months now and no flatness is seen anywhere...

You might also take your baby to a chiropractor and just have him/her check out the baby in case the baby is out of adjustment from delivery. Just to add, bedwetting problem later can be from bones out of alignment in lower back from the time of delivery.
